Hurry up, before pesky Science proves I’m wrong…

Who again is it that supposedly shuns science?  Anyway, from the Ironic Files:

This, today from the All Hoping, All Changing in regards to Global Warming:

“Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all,” Mr. Obama said.

“Denial is no longer an acceptable response,” he added. “The stakes are too high. The consequences, too serious.”

Meanwhile, back on Earth… “Oh crap!  That could cause a problem.”

But wait… All hope is not lost.  Wonder Twins to the rescue!  During the press conference where he publically expressed the utmost regret for his dissent and thanked the Merciful One’s High Inquisitor, Harry “Show no Mercy” Reid for bestowing favor upon him, Hadassah’s hubby announced he would be introducing global warming legislation with his good friend Sen. John McCain as soon as the 111th Congress convenes (save yourself the pain of listening to his grovelling and skip to the 2:25 mark):

“Shape of an Ice Weasel.  Form of a Giant RINO.”

Any thoughts as to why we lost this election?  Hmmm… Gosh… I’ve got nothing.

From the same alleged apparition (The High Assembly of Obaman Faith- formerly known as the United States Congress – has yet to declare it as an official appearance yet), His Benevolence left us with this not-so-veiled, yet “hopeful” threat against non-compliance:

“When I am president, any governor who’s willing to promote clean energy will have a partner in the White House. Any company that’s willing to invest in clean energy will have an ally in Washington. And any nation that’s willing to join the cause of combating climate change will have an ally in the United States of America.”

Everyone else… not so much.

  1. When the Messiah — oops — I meant president-elect Obama fixes the planet won’t we have egg on our faces?

    Hey, we’ll make omelets.

I give the guy four years . Adios Muchacho.

Well, it didn’t take long of McCain to start kissing liberal ass again.

This summer when oil prices were at $148 a barrel, we saw the electorate’s environmental impulses run head first into economic reality. Where offshore/ANWR drilling wasn’t popular before, it suddenly became very popular when people were paying $4/gal. at the pump. While some of that pressure is off for the moment, Obama’s policies will certainly reverse that trend – and will once again show the electorate the cost of environmentalist fantasies.

I’m all for finding alternate fuel sources, mainly for the purposes flooding the market with fuels and taking the pricing power away from OPEC. And if they are environmentally friendly, that’s great. But right now, there just is nothing. Corn-based ethanol is a loser, and while there are some other promising developments (e.g., see, they are not there yet. For at least the next several years, if not longer, we will need oil, all we can get. Obama’s policies run directly counter to that, and it’s going to hurt the economy as a whole.

The silver lining is, of course, that it will give us another issue to run against him and the democrats.

The collective short term memory failure of this country never fails to astound me. It’s as if we are a nation of 16 year old potheads.
